Someone once shared with me that even in the toughest of times, one must find a reason to be happy. Inspired by this thought, I've decided to start on this blog journey. While I won't get into the challenges of my current life, I aim to reflect on and write 1000 moments of joy that I've experienced. Over the past 35 years, I'm certain there have been more than a thousand such moments, perhaps unnoticed until now. So here begins my endeavor...
Doodh Biscuit ( Milk Biscuit)
When I was just five years old, the nearby shops used to sell these white bakery biscuits we used called "doodh biscuits." You couldn't find them in supermarkets, only in those small shops. They cost just 10 paisa—a denomination that today's world might struggle to comprehend (it's one-tenth of a rupee). Dipping one of those biscuits in a cup of tea and savoring it was an experience of pure delight! As a child, it was my favorite snack. Yet, obtaining that 10 paisa daily was a challenge. Who will give 10 paisa to a 5 year old child everyday.
I would often turn to my grandmother, who received a pension. Once a week, she would generously give me 20 paisa, allowing me to purchase two biscuits. Those evenings when I indulged in my doodh biscuits were simply the best.
Even now, I can vividly recall the sheer happiness those doodh biscuits brought me from that nearby shop.
This looks like something like this :
